Day 1

Hi and welcome to Sound Debate.

The main focus of this site will be to allow people to debate about any subject, but in audio/podcast form.

I will be experimenting with different methods of posting audio for other people to easily listen to, as well as having an easy way for people to submit their own content. Check the “About” page for a few ideas. I haven’t quite figured out how I will present other people’s discussion, but I’m considering taking various clips people give me about a topic and adding my own commentary to kind of act as a moderator or give background information to people who may just be tuning in. Topics will range from philosophy, science, religion, art, technology, Internet happenings and anything else that strikes my fancy.

Here is my current idea for hosting these files: I have 100MB free space on a googlepage and maybe on another googlepage as well. I could host the audio files there, and post mini flash-based audio players here. After the space on my googlepage runs out I could clear it all out by posting a torrent (see below) and linking to that for anyone who wants an archived version.

For the bittorrent archives, audio streaming could still be accomplished using Mininova’s “Featured Torrents” system to host the files, and then Bitlet.org/Music to stream the audio to people without any experience or knowledge of what bittorrent is.
